PURPLE CABAL

A world rendered in the warm, worn palette of late-90s OVA anime, soft cel-shading, warm film grain, the kind of visual comfort built to feel like a memory. Then it starts to slip. Faces hold a smile a beat too long. Characters melt into each other mid-frame like the animation forgot where one person ends and the other begins. A handshake never quite lets go. The nostalgia is the trap. Everything about the look, the linework, the soft light, reads as safe, familiar, almost sentimental; that's what makes the wrongness land so perfectly.

PROCESS

KREA 2 stills, Hermes Agent (GPT-5.5) writing the animation prompts, 10 Seedance 2 renders per prompt in Runway, chopped and edited into loops in Adobe Premiere, but tuned toward a nostalgic anime look.

The anime training data brought its own bias: faces smooth themselves into uncanny symmetry, expressions sync a half-second faster than they should, a handshake lingers just past comfortable. The sound design was also made through an entire prompting process.
